The First Annual Glen Lake Adventure Race
Saturday Oct. 9th 2010 at Glen Lake Camp and Retreat Center

Come join us for the first annual Glen Lake Adventure Race! Teams of 2 will run/bike/paddle/climb their way around Glen Lake and may find a few fun surprises along the way!
Who?
Teams of two will be competing on this course.
Team categories will be: Men, Women, Co-Ed, and Youth (5th-12th grade). Prizes will be awarded for the top three teams in each category.
Men, Women, Co-Ed, and Youth (5th-12th grade) will all compete on the same course. However, the Youth course will be easier than the adult course. Race times will be staggered for each category of participants.
This is a course that anyone can do! Never done an adventure race before but up for the challenge? Not a problem. This race will be a fun day of getting to enjoy the outdoors and a little friendly competition along the way.
Why?
All proceeds from this race will go to supporting the ministry of Glen Lake camp. It's a great way to get out and be active and support what we do here at Glen Lake!
We want this to be a great day for participants and their families so while the race is in process, we will have games in the gym for those who have come to support our racers.
Lunch
Lunch will be provided after the race. The fee for it is included in your registration price. If you are going to be bringing members of your family, when you register on race day, you can purchase them a meal ticket.
The Race
This is a sprint race and should take about 2-3 hours to complete. The start time will be staggered for each of the different categories. The run/bike/canoe portion will be a timed race, while the climb portion will be timed separately and added on to the race portion. And don't forget, there will be a few added surprises thrown in along the way!
We provide the canoe and paddles for the race, but you may bring your own if you would like. The biking portion of the race will be mountain bike style terrain as well as some pavement riding, and all participants are responsible for bringing their own bike and helmet. Any one riding a bike at any point must be wearing a helmet. The running portion of the race will be cross country style terrain as well as some pavement. Harnesses and low ropes equipment will be provided for the climb portion of the race.
Registration
Each participant needs to complete the registration form. For each partner pair, two forms need to be submitted, one for each individual. We have gone ahead and split the cost of the race for each pair on this form. If one partner wants to pay for both themselves and their partner, please indicate that in the space provided on this form. We have also provided a space for you to write down who your partner will be; make sure you fill this out so we know how many registrants we have! Form must be completely filled out to be processed. Within 10 days of receipt of your registration form, you will receive confirmation via email from us that we have received your information. Thank you for your participation in the Glen Lake Adventure race.
If you need any assistance, give us a call at 254-897-2247 or email kara@glenlake.org.
